Honey Cleanser

I use 100% pure honey to cleanse my Face. It works like a charm as a makeup remover and cleanser.

Honey is naturally loaded with essential vitamins and minerals that can benefit your body when taken internally and increase the health of your skin when applied topically. Honey is packed full of iron, vitamin B, calcium, potassium, magnesium among other nutrients. It can help keep your skin hydrated, reduce eczema and hyperpigmentation due to the natural enzymes in the honey which function as a mild antiseptic.

IMPORTANT! Requirement for mix:

  • Honey

Mixing instructions:

There are none I just keep a little Honey in the cabinet in my bathroom.

How it is applied:

  1. I first splash my face with water (avoiding my eyes – I use something else for my Eye-Makeup).
  2. I pour a coin sized amount of Honey onto my moisten fingertips and gently massage it onto my face in circular motions. As I do this the Honey starts to pickup my Makeup!
  3. I  moisten a facial cloth with a little water and gently rub it over my face to start lifting off the Makeup. I like to rub the cloth on my T-zone a little more particularly on my nose.
  4. I splash my face with water and repeat steps 2 and 3 again until there are no traces of Makeup.
  5. Once I do not see any Makeup I do a final splash with water and move onto my Eye-Makeup Remover.

What do you use to Cleanse your face?

Thanks

      Hi Tea,

While Agave Nectar has some similar properties to Honey and works as a light humectant (moisturizing) ingredient it does not pack quite as much punch in terms of antibacterial & antiseptic properties. It will help remove makeup on your face however I do not believe that it does quite as a good a job of thoroughly cleansing the skin. If you are looking for vegan friendly ingredients then you could use the agave nectar and then follow up with using Aloe Vera Juice diluted with a little water (put a little AVJ on a cotton swab and add a little water to it – on the cotton swab) & swipe that over your face, let it sit for a minute or two and then splash it off. The AVJ would work as the antiseptic and antibacterial to help cleanse the skin it also helps restore the pH level of the skin. You do not have to use water with the AVJ but for some it can be a little drying so adding the water will help “dilute” it a little. Hope that helps 🙂

P.s. I signed up with your blog, you have stunning hair and are gorgeous 😀
